We as Editors of this Journal have to excuse the dalayed pulishing of this volume. There were major changes in the structure and the available staff. Due to some personal reasons there was simply no possibility to work on this journal in the appropriate continous way. We ask for he understanding of our valued audience - but this journal is on a non-profit basis and all work is done voluntarily in our spare time.
The interest in our journal has exceeded any speculation at the time when we began in 1995. (It actually started as many a good idea when we had a beer together after beeing on call) We continue to have about 1500 hits per month (which is much more than many highly rated print journals can claim).
This - and the fact that we got quite a few e-mails asking what happened to our journal - encouraged us to continue. We will try to establish this journal now with a bigger background (besides the orthopedic department of the University Düsseldorf, the Universities Hamburg and Heidelberg will participate in this project).
We would also invite everyone to partake in this project in a active way - be it submitting articles or as part of our team.
